The Red Wizard Argyle

Today’s doodle is the result of a spontaneous sketching session in Potosi, Wisconsin, sometime between 2004 and 2006.

This guy has one heck of a chin. He also is carrying an apple. Here are my guesses as to the fruit’s significance:

  • It is a snack. Mr. Chin had to skip lunch because of his packed schedule, so he’s catching up now.
  • It is the long-lost Emperor’s Apple, being returned after a global hunt led by famed adventurer Gus Stricklin.
  • It is the Red Wizard Argyle. Here he is traveling via magical flight with traveling companion Graham Goldsmith.

Wilhelm de Landbouwer worked so hard to prepare for de Winter Dans, from changing his socks to hanging his cardigan outside to air out that Holstein smell. But all was lost when it came to his skinny tie; his hands were made for udders, not Windsors.

Enter Zuster Gertrude to save the day yet again. The daughter of a portable-dike manufacturer, Gertrude longed to work in the eyelash industry, but her father, Gustav, would have none of it. She was too valuable to the dikery. As a compromise, she ran away from home and joined the Church.
